Gina Renzulli Lemay, Esq.

Gina Renzulli Lemay joins Oliverio & Marcaccio with over fifteen years of litigation experience, practicing before state and federal courts and administrative agencies in Rhode Island. Gina began her legal career as a judicial clerk for the Rhode Island Superior Court and then practiced for several years with a mid-sized Rhode Island firm focusing on insurance defense litigation. Gina then joined another Rhode Island firm where she spent over twelve years focusing her practice on municipal and government law. Gina has represented various municipalities and school committees and advised them on a variety of legal issues, including labor and employment matters, with extensive involvement in collective bargaining negotiations, contract interpretation issues, labor disputes and grievance and arbitration proceedings. Gina has been involved in matters before the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training, the Rhode Island Commission for Human Rights, and the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Gina regularly counseled clients on regulatory and administration issues related to municipal pensions, litigation concerning pension issues and for a decade she served as legal counsel to a municipal pension board. Gina served as co-counsel on pension litigation that was successfully appealed and briefed at the Rhode Island Supreme Court on two separate occasions, resulting in the Supreme Court overturning the trial justice and entering judgment on behalf of a municipal client.

With transparency an integral focus for public bodies, Gina counseled clients on issues related to open government including the Access to Public Records Act, the Open Meetings Act and the statutory bidding and purchasing procedures for awarding municipal contracts.

Gina is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association, and the Rhode Island Women’s Bar Association (“RIWBA”) where she served as a member of the Executive Board from 2007-2019. Gina served as RIWBA’s President for its 2018-2019 membership year, and is now a member of its Emeritus Committee. Gina is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association’s Government Lawyers Committee and its Ethics and Professionalism Committee.

In 2010, Chief Justice Suttell appointed Gina to the Permanent Advisory Committee on Women and Minorities in the Courts, where she served until 2016. Gina previously served on the Board of Directors for Rhode Island Legal Services, Inc. and on the Board of Directors for Providence ¡CityArts! for Youth, Inc., a non-profit located in the City of Providence that provides free professional art-based education and training to Providence youth.

Gina resides here in the Town of North Kingstown and is actively involved with her children’s local elementary school and also serves as a parent volunteer for the North Kingstown Jaguars Youth Football and Cheerleading.
